Social Design = Relational Design / System Design.
Social = Relational, Together, Organise.
Design = Decision Making, Meaningful Outcomes.
Meaningful outcomes = Values Based Projects, Software-driven social impact & Interactive Content.
Social Design Academy roughly translates into:
‘Learn how to organise to make decisions together for meaningful outcomes.’
I (Niels) will focus on small Interactive Content design examples, using ‘show instead of tell’ as design principle. Learning to design for meaningful outcomes (beyond profit) is a field that blockchain enables, as designing with blockchain is designing with money, meaning that we can move towards pay to use, participate to earn, help to get, and all kinds of new business-models we can’t reach with fiat, nor CBDC.
Participate to use is the ultimate validator of meaningful impact. Real innovation pisses people off, that’s why (big) groups resort to groupthink, it’s a self-protection mechanism. (We can’t do nothing about it mentality.)
Social Design Academy brings psychology and sociology into the digital product design / problem-solving arena.
We don’t realise it but our blackbox money systems (pay at the end/policy set by the few), keeps us locked in profit thinking. And perhaps rightfully so, as we subconsciously see working together as a potential attack on our livelihood, and earning potential. Although we would never admit that.
Our current money systems keeps us locked where we are., but what if Earning for Self is the biggest lie we get told from a young age? Blockchain is a novel technology that enables us to rethink (intrinsic) value from the ground up, but we need to courage to do so.
Money/reward is on #7 on the Bain & company value pyramid.

Learning to design with the 29 other incentives must be prioritised if we want to find new ways to involve people. And making information actionable across chain, with help of data containers, is a way forward.
That’s where interactive content comes in. Participate to earn (helping others, belonging) is an example, and ties into the ‘continuous grading’ talked about earlier.
Will start with a Past, Present, Future schematic, and problem-statement breakdown exercise as Interactive Content Demo, as that would tie in with Cardano Project Catalyst best. Want to learn how to bring your project to Catalyst and get funded by community instead of investors. Reach out.
Have a great day, Niels
